Chris Nilan pursued his career by playing inside the rink when he joined the youth hockey with the Greater Boston Youth Hockey League’s Parkway team. As he landed a spot during the 1978 NHL Entry Draft, he was chosen to play for the Montreal Canadiens.
He led the Canadiens to win the Stanley Cup in 1986. Then, Nilan transferred to New York Rangers and Boston Bruins before he moved back to Canadiens on the latter part of 1991.
