Ukrainian oligarch Ihor Kolomoyskyy is the co-founder of PrivatBank with an estimated net worth of $2.4 billion as of March 2013. He is the third richest person in Ukraine and 613th in the world according to Forbes. Ihor Valeriyovych Kolomoyskyy was born on February 13, 1963 in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukrainian SSR, he graduated with a Master of Science at Dnipropetrovsk Metallurgical Institute.
Most of Kolomoyskyy’s estimated net worth of $2.4 billion came from PrivatBank, the largest commercial bank in Ukraine that he co-founded with fellow billionaire Henadiy Boholyubov. Together, they also control the bank and its informal Privat Group. In 1997, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors aside from being a leading partner of the firm. His other interests include ferroalloys, finance, oil products, mass media, metal, and petroleum industries.
With PrivatBank, Ihor Kolomoyskyy controls Aerosvit Airlines, Dniproavia and Donbassaero. He controls Skyways Express, City Airline, and Cimber Sterling aviation companies through the asset management company Mansvell Enterprises Ltd. He is also a de facto chairman of the FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. He has a minority stake in Evraz, a steel maker owned by Roman Abramovich.
Kolomoyskyy and his partner Boholyubov opened the world’s biggest multifunctional Jewish center called the Menorah Center in Dnepropetrovsk last fall. Some of his notable guests were Israeli Chief Rabi Shlomo Amar and US ambassador John Tefft.
