Croatia
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to
apply for a Croatian Visa.
- Visa application form filled and signed by the applicant. Applicants can also fill out the application form online.
- Passport which has an expiry date that exceeds the expiry date of the requested visa by at least three months. The passport must have been issued within the last 10 years and have a minimum of two blank pages.
- Copy of all previously used visas either valid or expired should be made available.
- One 35x45mm passport-sized photograph printed on a normal photographic paper. The passport must be in color and must be taken against a light background.
- Valid travel health insurance which remains valid for the duration of the applicant’s stay in Croatia. The passport must have a minimum coverage of €30,000 for health reasons, urgent medical assistance, and repatriation.
- Documents which prove that the applicant has sufficient funds to support his/her stay in Croatia and to return to his/her country of residence. It is estimated at €70 per day.
- Documents which support the applicant’s means of subsistence may include bank account statements and payslips from the past three months before applying for the visa.
- Hotel accommodation, private or other accommodation for the duration of your stay in Croatia.

Croatia Tourist Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- The Tourist Visa is usually requested by citizens of foreign countries who pick Croatia as their most-preferred destination for tourism.
- Croatians and foreigners who hold permanent residence in Croatia can invite their friends or relatives who reside outside the country. The invited foreigners can gain entry to Croatia on this visa.
- This visa allows you to stay in Croatia for 90 days in any 180-day period. The visa can be issued for single, double or multiple entries.
- Foreigners in Croatia are not entitled to taking up paid or unpaid employment during their time in the country.
- If you are not a citizen of Algeria, you may be requested to provide a photocopy of your Algerian residence permit as proof of residence.
- Minors traveling to Croatia on the Tourist Visa must be in possession of the original copy of their birth certificate and must carry a notarized consent if they are traveling with one or none of their parents.
- The visa application of minors must be submitted by the parent or legal guardian.
- Foreigners who have proof of a paid tourist package or a similar document must be able to afford €30 per day of their stay in Croatia instead of the standard €70 per day.
- Visa applicants may be requested to show up at the Embassy or Consulate for a personal visa interview before a decision is being made.
- Submitting all required documents for the visa application does not translate into you being issued the visa.
- All the documents to be submitted during the visa application must not be older than three months.
- The Embassy may require you to submit the certified translation of the original copies of such documents.
Croatia Business Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- This visa is issued to those who are business-oriented and are willing to make business trips to Croatia in order to meet with their partners.
- Foreigners in Croatia can attend trade fairs, business conferences, congresses as far as they have an official invitation to the fair, congress or conference.
- A Letter of Guarantee from the guarantor in original is required. The guarantor must enclose proof of solvency (BON 1 or BON 2) forms with the letter of guarantee. The photocopy of the letter guarantee is issued to the visa applicant if the original has been deposited at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs in Croatia.
- The Letter of Guarantee is given to the visa applicant to be resented as proof of purpose of stay if requested by the border control authority.
- If the Letter of Guarantee indicates that the guarantor/host will take full responsibility for the applicant’s finances in Croatia, the applicant may be exempt from providing proof of sufficient financial means.
- If you are employed in Algeria, evidence of employment should be provided.
- Retirees should ensure they have proof of their pension.
- Foreigners in Croatia on this short-term visa are prohibited from being gainfully employed during their time in the country.
- Reservation of return travel ticket which shows that the foreigner has the intention of returning to his/her country.
- The passport photograph of visa applicants must show the applicant’s face clearly without facial expression, with his/her eyes open, and mouth closed.
- The passport photograph must also show the full face taken straight forward 30-36mm from point of the chin to the head of hair.
- If any of the specifications of the passport photograph is not met, your application may be deemed incomplete.
Croatia Official Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- This visa is issued to Algerian nationals who are visiting Croatia for official purposes.
- A note verbal from the government of Algeria which states the applicant’s name and status is required. The note verbal should also state the duration of the applicant’s visit.
- Members of official delegations who have been invited to participate in meetings, consultations, negotiations or exchange programs are expected to provide a letter issued by the organizer confirming that the applicant is a member of the official delegate traveling to Croatia to perform in the above-stated events.
- Applicants of the Official Visa for Croatia are required to present a valid means of identification during the visa application process.
- Algerians visiting Croatia on this visa are not allowed to take up paid or unpaid employment during their time in the country.
- The duration counter begins as soon as you enter any country in the Schengen area. Note that this counter is not reset by leaving a specific Schengen country for another.
- The fee paid for the visa application cannot be refunded once your application has been accepted by the Embassy.
- Issuance of a visa is not a guarantee that you will be allowed entry into the country. The police may require you to present all relevant document on every border crossing.
- If your visa application has been rejected, you will be duly notified. A visa refusal/revocation form stating the reason for the refusal will be delivered to the applicant.
- You are warned to desist from the act of falsifying any of the documents to be submitted. You may be subject to criminal prosecution if you are caught.
- This processing time for this visa is 15 days.
- The visa may be issued for single, double or multiple entries.
- All the documents to be attached and submitted must not be older than three months.
Croatia Medical Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- This visa is issued to foreigners who is not in the best health condition and has the intention of seeking and receiving medical treatment in Croatia.
- A medical diagnosis from a local physician in Algeria stating the nature of the applicant’s illness. The physician must also state the reason the treatment will be best administered in Croatia and the duration of the treatment.
- A document from the receiving institution in Croatia confirming the willingness to treat the visa applicant is required.
- The visa applicant must be able to provide proof of having sufficient means to pay the medical bill and any other bill that may arise during the course of the medical treatment.
- Non-Algerians applying for this visa type should ensure that they have a copy of their Algerian residence permit.
- Employed applicants of the Medical Visa must provide a copy of their employment contract which serves as evidence that they are employed.
- Applicants of this visa who are retired must be present their pension certificate during the application.
- If you are under the age of 18 years, you are required to present the original unabridged copy of your birth certificate.
- Parents or guardians of minors should ensure they assist the minor in completing his/her visa application form.
- You are not allowed to pursue employment opportunities while you are in the country on this visa.
- Falsifying one or more of the documents to be submitted at the Embassy may result in you facing criminal charges.
- Applicants of this visa may be requested to visit the Embassy or Consulate for a visa interview before a decision on their application is made.
- Foreigners traveling to Croatia may be subject to further checks by police officers and immigration officers at borders.
Croatia Student Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- This visa is issued to foreigners who have been accepted to study in any of the institutions of learning in Croatia.
- Foreign students must be in possession of proof of enrolment in the institution they have been accepted to study in Croatia.
- You must be able to provide proof of being able to afford €70 per day for the duration of your study program in Croatia.
- It is important that you have a confirmed accommodation in Croatia that covers the period you will be studying in the country.
- Non-Algerians should be in possession of a copy of their Algerian residence permit which remains valid three months after leaving the country.
- Those who are under the age of 18 years should ensure they provide the original copy of their birth certificate.
- Minors who will be visiting Croatia without a parent should ensure they have a letter of authorization signed by their parents confirming their travel.
- Ensure that all the documents to be submitted during the visa application process must not be older than three months.
- The Croatian Embassy or Consulate may require you to provide additional supporting documents.
- You may be required to present the certified translation of documents that are in Arabic.
- The fees paid for the visa application cannot be refunded once it has been accepted by the Croatian Embassy.
- If your visa application is rejected, you are allowed to file a complaint within 15 days after receiving the notification of the rejection of your application.
Croatia Transit Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- This visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of transiting through Croatia to their destination country.
- Visa issued by a third country which indicates that proof of entry into the country is required.
- Travel ticket which indicates that the applicant will indeed gain entry into a third country is required.
- You are not allowed to take up any form of work during your time in the country.
- Applicants of this visa who are not citizens of Algeria are not required to provide a copy of their valid Algerian residence permit.
- Minors traveling without a parent or legal guardian must carry a notarized consent which carries the personal information of the parent or legal guardian. The parent or legal guardian must also sign this consent.
- Foreigners who have double or multiple entry visas valid for any of the Schengen area member states do not require a transit visa.
- If your visa application is rejected, you will be sent a visa refusal or revocation form indicating the reason for the refusal of your visa.
- After you have received the refusal or revocation form, you may file a complaint against the decision to refuse your visa application within 15 days of receiving the visa application.
- The complaint must be filed in Croatian and you are required to pay a fee of €26 or $35.
- Submitting all the required document during a visa application does not automatically mean that you will be issued this visa.
