Who is George O. Gore II?
George O. Gore II was born in Fort Washington, Maryland USA, on 15 December 1982 – his zodiac sign is Sagittarius and he holds American nationality. He is a former actor who is perhaps still best known for his portrayal of the lead character Michael Kyle, Jr. in the comedy series “My Wife & Kids”, which aired from 2001 to 2005 and which was created by Don Reo and Damon Wayans. Damon starred alongside Tisha Campbell Martin in the series, and the story follows Michael Kyle living with his wife Janet and their three children. “My Wife & Kids” won 11 awards and was nominated for 36 others.
Childhood, parents and education
George was raised an only child in Fort Washington by his father who was a theatre actor, and his mother who was a housewife – he is very close to his parents, and they often dine together at local restaurants.
George became interested in acting while attending Suitland High School located in Forestville, Maryland, and started appearing in school plays, often playing lead characters – George was also very sporting as he played both soccer and football. He matriculated in 2000, and then focused on his acting career rather than pursuing a college degree.
Career as an actor
George has been credited with 13 appearances in movies and TV series.
He actually made his debut film appearance in 1992, when he portrayed Brian in the action crime drama “Juice”, written and directed by Ernest R. Dickerson, and which starred Omar Epps, Tupac Shakur and Jermaine Hopkins – the story follows four teenagers who find power and happiness in the drug known as ‘the juice’; the film was nominated for a single award. He made his debut TV series appearance in 1996, when invited to guest star as Clayton Doyle in the episode “Slave” of the crime mystery series “Law & Order”, which was a hit in the US as it won 47 awards and was nominated for over 200 others, including six Golden Globes.
In the same year, he portrayed Mark Jones in the sport comedy film “Eddie”, which starred Whoopi Goldberg and Fran Langella, and is about Edwina ‘Eddie’ Franklin who becomes the basketball coach of the New York Knicks. The year 1997 saw him portray Boy in Harlem in the drama mystery thriller film “The Devil’s Advocate”, starring Keanu Reeves, Al Pacino and Charlize Theron, and which follows a lawyer working in Florida, who receives an offer to start working at a law company in New York City – the film was a hit, winning two awards while it was nominated for seven others.
In 1998 he guest starred in the episode “Elijah” of the family fantasy drama series “Touched by an Angel”, which was very popular in the US, as it won 28 awards and was nominated for 48 others, including three Golden Globes. In 1994, he began portraying Gregory ‘G’ Williams in the crime drama series “New York Undercover”, created by Kevin Arkadie and Dick Wolf, and which starred Malik Yoba and Michael DeLorenzo – the film follows cops as they are fighting criminals in New York City.
He went on to portray Billy in the 1999 romantic drama film “The Bumblebee Flies Anyway”, which starred Elijah Wood and Janet Paparazzo, and in 2001 he guest starred as Freddy Goal in the episodes “Full Moon Halloween” and “School Spirit” of the family fantasy horror “The Nightmare Room”.
In 2006, George voiced D-Roc in two movies: “Thugaboo: Sneaker Madness” and “Thugaboo: A Miracle on D-Roc’s Street”.
Two of his final roles before retiring from acting were in the action comedy musical “Dance Flick” in 2009, which starred Marlon and Shawn Mayans, and in 2013 he portrayed George, one of the lead characters in the comedy series “Second Generation Wayans”.
George was nominated for five awards for his performance in “New York Undercover”. In 1997, he was nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Drama Series – Young Actor, and then for three Image Awards for Outstanding Youth Actor/Actress in 1996, 1997 and 1998 – in 1998 as well, he was nominated for a YoungStar Award for Best Performance by a Young Actor in a Drama TV Series.
For his performance in “My Wife and Kids”, he was jointly nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Ensemble in a TV Series (Comedy or Drama) in 2003, for an Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and for a BET Comedy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2004, and he and his colleague actors and actresses were also nominated for a BET Comedy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series.
Wife. Is he gay?
George is very secretive when it comes to his love life, and hasn’t talked about any women (or men) he might have dated since the launch of his acting career – this is one of the reasons why many people believe that he is gay, as he is also a supporter of the Gay Rights Movement and supports same-sex marriage.
There are also rumors circulating the internet claiming that George is married, but none of these have been confirmed.
Conversely, it’s known that he was in a relationship with Brooklyn Sudano, an American actress, dancer and singer, who is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Vanessa Scott in the comedy series “My Wife & Kids”, which aired from 28 March 2001 to 17 May 2005. They were together for nearly two years before splitting ways for unknown reasons.
