Kenny Rogers was a well-known American singer, songwriter, actor, and businessman. Born on August 21, 1921, Kenny Rogers died on Mach 20, 2020. Because of his remarkable impact on country music, Kenny was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.

Kenny Rogers was born to Lucille Lois Rogers, a nurse assistant, and Edward Floyd Rogers, a carpenter. Rogers attended Wharton Primary School, Junior High School of George Washington, and in 1956, he graduated from Jefferson Davis Higher School. In 1949, at the Texan Theater, Rogers won a talent show. He was a busboy in Hotel Rice and swept $9 a week for his floors in a hat shop. He then went to Houston University.

In the early 1950s, Rogers began his musical career and was especially popular with country viewers but also recorded over 420 successful songs in different genres to surpass the country’s pop album charts for over two hundred weeks in the United States alone. During his career he sold more than 100 million albums all over the world, making him one of the most popular music performers ever.
