Wendell Pierce first became widely recognized thanks to his work on the HBO dramas “The Wire”, portraying Detective Bunk Moreland, and “Treme”, where he portrayed Antoine Batiste. Pierce was born in New Orleans on December 8, 1966. He attended Benjamin Franklin High School before graduating from the New Orleans Centre for Creative Arts. Later, he attended Juilliard School’s Drama Division, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Pierce has appeared in over 30 films and 50 television shows.
