Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to
apply for a Chadian Visa.

  • A
    passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stickers.
  • Duly
    completed and signed visa application form.
  • Recently
    taken passport-sized photographs (2×2 inches) in size and taken in
    white background.
  • A
    complete travel document.
  • Proof
    of financial status to cover your entire duration of stay in Chad.
  • Proof
    of accommodation or hotel reservations In Chad.
  • A
    letter of invitation from a host in Chad.
  • Copy
    of return flight ticket to show you have the intention to return back to Laos after the expiry of your visa.
  • Documentation showing applicant’s ties to home country.

Tourism in Chad is not a major industry but the country still attracts a number of tourists each year. Visitors in Chad are usually excited by the hunting capabilities in the country. Zakouma National Park is also a great destination for tourists. The park is the oldest national park in the country and it houses lions, elephants and a host of other animals.
The country is named after the ‘Lake Chad’ which is the largest wetland in Chad and the second largest in Africa. French and Arabic are the most popular languages in the country. The country has over 200 ethnic groups. Crude oil became the country’s primary source of exporting income in 2003, usurping the cotton industry.
Homosexuality is seriously frowned at in Chad. People caught in this act will serve prison sentence ranging from 3 months to 2 years and incur a fine of between 50,000 and 500,000 CFA. Foreigners should ensure they are in possession of a valid means of identification at all times.
